Education/Experience
I graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 2011 with a degree in Counseling Psychology and a Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. I began working in a helping capacity in 2004 beginning with experience at an in-patient drug and alcohol treatment facility. The seeds of a systemic approach to recovery, growth, healing and repair established in me during these formative years. I have cherished teaching, presenting and consulting ever since.
My experience has varied across the helping professions. I have worked as staff, counselor, teacher, supervisor, therapist at an inpatient facility, as staff at an adult foster care, as an in-home therapist and outpatient therapist.
I offer licensure supervision for LMFT, LPC and LPCC candidates seeking licenses in the state of MN. In addition to being a board approved supervisor for these licensure candidates, I have also obtained the AAMFT Approved Supervisor designation.
Current Style/Interests
My underlying nature is to deepen my knowledge and expertise as a therapist, whether through trainings or personal study. I completed a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner 3-year certificate program in 2017, and enjoy using a body-based approach with clients. Additional interests include the Polyvagal Theory, attachment, trauma (both in the sense of stress and overwhelming traumatic incidents), family of origin, differentiation, couples therapy, Self-of-the-Therapist and the Enneagram.
